Description
This electronic vox piece is made from the manipulation of two words: sisu and sumud. Sisu is Finnish, and means determination, grit, bravery, resilience. Sumud is steadfast resistance in the face of oppression in Arabic.
These two character traits are wrought through a stream of experiences, before rising in layers of invincible voices.
Made for the Cessation of Silence event at Islington South Womens Forum, organised by composer Jo Thomas.
