Watch a clip about Peter Logono here: youtu.be/-DyTJts9wjIPeter Logono is a 24 year old Adungu player (9 string traditional lyre) from the Turkana region of Kenya. He'd escaped cattle rustlers and massive drought for a better life in the Lake Victoria region. We met him playing his homemade instrument in a busaa (homebrew) club in Maseno, a truck-stop town on the route to Uganda. He said he makes 2 bucks on a good day, and things were grim. We have no idea what happened to him or where he traveled to next. This song, sung in his native Turkana, is a lament for home. He accompanies himself with a homemade kick drum made of a painted metal wash basin.
