Live at WFMU on 100% Whatever with Mary Wing, 6/5/2016 Live Performance

Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff are the masterminds behind Nadja, originally from Toronto and now living in Berlin. The duo combines soundscapes, electronics and atmospheric vocals with slow, epic riffs and dirge-like percussion, creating a slowly moving grand wall of music that has been variously described as drone, ambient-doom, dreamsludge, and shoegazer-metal. Their latest release is “Sv,” a 41-minute album consisting of a gradually-intensifying single track entitled "Sievert." Performing a handful of rare live shows in North America, Nadja stopped by the WFMU studio to unleash their controlled sonic assault on Mary Wing’s show.
