Biography
Frankie and The Pool Boys is a project band put together by Pollo del Mar's lead guitarist and songwriter Ferenc Dobronyi. The concept was to get together some of the best players in the surf genre and have a lot of fun. Members from the bands The Ventures, Slacktone, The Surf Coasters, The Space Cossacks and more contributed performances to the 2008 self titled release.
It was never the intention to try and take the band on the road but an invitation to perform at the 2010 Surf Guitar 101 Convention in Orange County got the ball rolling and Dobronyi began to assemble a touring unit.
