Carry Me Over is a beautifully spare and personal solo album from Dan Matz (WINDSOR FOR THE DERBY / THE BIRDWATCHER) which was written and recorded upstate New York in Dan's old Hope Union Studio and features some musical accompaniment from Anna Neighbors. The album adheres to the more traditional songwriting approach Dan first began with the Birdwatcher project, from the spark and jangle of the title track to the folk-pop of "Possessions in a Nest." The Germanic waltz "To Know My Song" depicts Dan's move from New York City to the pastoral hills of Boston Township, New York and "Bearcat Blues" and "Matthew" are stripped down, cathartic odes to love lost and longed for. The record promises to appeal both old supporters and new fans alike.
